Learning the language

The second question people ask me when I tell them we are moving to Mexico is, "Do you speak Spanish?"

(The first one is: "Is that safe?"  because, you know, we're in the habit of taking our kids to unsafe places and all..)

So we have been honing our Spanish as best we can.
The kids have picked out some literature since we had a good amount of Barnes and Nobles gift cards to use up.

But by far our favorite book has been the following:

I swear it has most every word that you can think of!

They are all divided into categories

 It even talks about states and emotions...

We have had the most success with retention from
Duolingo
Leigh LOVES doing this on her Ipod...

Less than 3 weeks....

We have been unavailable by wifi and phone lately.
Why?
You ask?

Because we have been house hunting.

In Mexico!

Ocean views/front were pretty prevalent in our search

Really tried to get a place close to here for my sister's sake...

it was across the road from the ocean though.

Dogs on a roof of a neighboring property seemed like a sign...

(not an uncommon sight either.)

 Loads of Mexican tile, well, because it's Mexico.

And miraculous sunsets abound!

Performing and, Performing

Yesterday was the last show of Dear Edwina, the musical put on by the AZ Homeschool Theater.
Both kids were involved.

Long week taking a toll...

All in all, a very fun, exciting day that was enjoyed by both.  Everyone was certainly tired by the end though.
The only thing left to do now is pack!

Opening Night!

Tonight is the opening night of the AZ Homeschool Theater production of the musical Dear Edwina.

It will be a 4 day run and the first time that BOTH kids are performing.
They have each individualy performed in productions but...never together.

This is Leigh's second role for AZHT and Carson's first.

Earlier this week:

Me: This friday will be the first performance.

Carson. Wait, the first?  How many are there?

Me: 4, one everyday for 4 days.

Carson: Is it the same thing every day?

Me: Yes.

Carson: (thinking about it for a minute) Ok then.

A LOT going on right now
